Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Optometrist to join our premier group private practice in Bermuda. This is a full-scope clinical role with a focus on providing thorough, patient-centered care across all age groups. The ideal candidate will be therapeutically licensed and capable of diagnosing and managing ocular disease, fitting specialty contact lenses, and co-managing surgical cases. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual function for patients of all ages
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions such as glaucoma, keratoconus, dry eye, and diabetic retinopathy
- Prescribe corrective lenses and fit specialty contact lenses
- Co-manage pre- and post-operative refractive surgery care
- Educate patients on visual health, disease prevention, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate patient records using digital EHR systems
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
- Optional: Provide niche services in pediatric orthoptics, TBI vision care, low vision, or sports vision
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree – or UK equivalent – from an accredited institution
- Therapeutic license to practice in Canada, United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa OR Independent Prescribing in the UK.
- Clinical proficiency in ocular disease management and contact lens fitting
- Strong communication skills with a professional and compassionate patient approach
- Interest in continuous clinical learning and teamwork
- Fluency in English (Portuguese an asset).
